On the importance of PLE for youth….
As you may know, one of our websites, LawCentral Schools, is a portal site geared specifically for students and teachers in Alberta. It provides links to a plethora of resources to help teach youth about the law; many (including some that we have created ourselves) are classroom ready. This site exists because we recognize the particular importance of providing public legal education to our youth, so that they may become more empowered, engaged and effective members of society.
It turns out, we are not the only ones with a strong opinion in this regard. In the UK, Independent Academic Research Studies (IARS), a youth-led, social policy think-tank that aims to empower young people to influence policy and practice, has created a thoughtful video on the subject.
