Program Manager

The Centre for Public Legal Education Alberta is seeking a full-time Program Manager to provide leadership in planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the organization’s programs, services, and special projects. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the PM works with a multidisciplinary team of staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure high quality resources are delivered on time and in accordance with approved budgets. In the absence of the Executive Director, the PM is responsible for all aspects of the operation of the organization and reports to the Board of Directors as required.

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you will have

  • a commitment to citizen engagement and social justice;
  • experience in project management;
  • financial planning and management experience;
  • successful experience in writing applications for funding;
  • experience in human resources management, including supervisory experience;
  • ability to create a positive work environment and to foster teamwork;
  • high level of interpersonal communications skills;
  • ability to write and edit in plain language;
  • a keen eye for detail;
  • experience in designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, services, and learning resources;
  • strong interest in using new technologies for building civic and community capacity and for disseminating information; and
  • a university degree in law, adult education, instructional design, library science, business, non-profit management, or a related discipline. An advanced degree will be an asset.

Since the Program Manager’s role is multi-faceted, you will be a well-organized, creative person, who enjoys working with people. You will have demonstrated leadership ability, be able to take ambiguity in stride, and be comfortable working in an innovative and collaborative organization.
