Neglect
Neglect can include not providing food, clothing, medication, personal care, medical care, and more. It can also include placing an older adult in an unsafe or isolated environment.
Signs of neglect can include physical signs of malnourishment, untidy appearance, poor hygiene, and more.
Self-neglect is different from neglect caused by someone else. Sometimes a mentally capable adult chooses to live in a situation of self-neglect, and it can be hard to help them.
